The IBC Tote Mixer From EvenMix

Mar 23

For many businesses, mixing in totes is a regular part of their operations. Whether they are brewing beer or wine, making commercial paint or sanitizers, cleaning products, or even pesticides and herbicides on a large farm, it is important to mix the ingredients evenly and correctly in order to achieve the best possible results. But while traditional IBC tote mixers tend to be heavy, bulky and difficult to maintain and Digital Drive Modes, a newer model with innovative patented blade technology is changing the way that plastic tote contents are mixed.

The IBC Tote Mixer from EvenMix is a revolutionary new plastic tote mixer designed to be tough enough to handle a wide range of applications while maintaining a lightweight operation that can easily be completed by just one person. While more costly and complicated electric models require two people to move around and can be difficult to keep in working condition, the EvenMix solution is a cost-effective option that pays for itself in energy saved and product consistency achieved.

Typically, the reason that liquids in IBC totes need mixing and agitation is because they have separated and settled on the bottom of the container. In addition, some IBC tote tanks contain custom blends of a base liquid and special additives and ingredients that may need to be re-blend or homogenized.

These IBC tote agitators come in both direct drive and gear-driven models depending on the type of material being mixed. Direct-drive mixers feature a collapsible mixing impeller that fits through the six inch opening at the top of the tote, but then extends for use. Heavier and higher viscosity mixtures require gear-driven models with larger impellers that are able to generate more torque for mixing.

IBC tote agitators are available in both standard 275 gallon sizes as well as smaller 150 and 300-gallon models. These agitators can also be modified with extra features such as inline oilers and filing hoppers to accommodate specific project needs. For example, a hopper is an essential accessory for storing abrasives that need to be ground down or chopped before being used in the mixing process.

In agriculture, IBC tote agitators are often utilized for mixing fertilizers and chemicals for crop protection and seed treatments. Mixing in totes ensures that the agricultural chemicals are evenly dispersed throughout the field and are able to penetrate the roots and provide optimal growth conditions. Additionally, these tote agitators can be modified with inline sprayers for dispensing the agricultural chemicals onto crops.

Keeping a tote mixer at the ready in a shed or barn is an easy way to maintain quality control on a large farming operation. In addition, a tote mixer can be re-used over and over again with each batch of product being mixed in the same location. Moreover, these tote mixers can be easily cleaned after each use by simply emptying and washing the mixing segment with water. In addition, the dynamic coupling that connects the tote mixer to the agitator provides safety from cross-contamination while also allowing the drive segment to be quickly switched between totes.
