City Parks in Clearwater FL is areas that are managed by the City of Clearwater. These are the most well-known in the area because of the wide variety of things you can do and see there. They are managed by the city, and you will find plenty to do in each park. For example, the largest park is Everglades National Park. There, you can boat, swim, kayak, play golf, bike, or hike. You can even have a picnic at one of their tables.

 

Of the many city parks in Clearwater FL, Bayland Park is one of the most well-known. It's close to downtown Clearwater and several other attractions including the Clearwater Beach Shopping Center and the Kennedy Space Museum. The area has a free daily museum run called "Museums on the Bay", where you can learn many interesting things about the area. Other events include boat racing on Saturday nights, and the "iry belly dance" on Sundays. There are also free concerts held at the amphitheater during summer months.

Many people come here for the beaches. The park is very close to two of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. At mile marker nine on the north end of the park, you will find the Gulf beach. It has white sand, which are slightly coarse, and a soft sand that are finer. The area also has many different types of water life and animals that are found only in the Gulf waters, including manatees, turtles, dolphins, fish, and much more.

 

Just south of the park at mile marker twelve is the Ocala National Forest. Here, you will enjoy hiking and biking. Hikers can stay at the Cross Banks Hut or go on some of the trails found here. Bicyclists can enjoy the Cross Bay Trail as well.

 

Another popular attraction here is the Ft. Walton Beach Park. This park is located on the west side of the city. It has tennis courts, swimming pools, bike paths, picnic areas, and an active wildlife refuge. The beach here is great for family fun, and you can enjoy the warm weather here year-round.

 

Just minutes from downtown Clearwater, you can drive to the Indian River Fest. Here, you will enjoy Indian River fishing and sightseeing at the park's four miles of shoreline. A benefit of going to the festival is free admission. Also, food and music are abundant. You might want to take advantage of the Indian River Festival, which runs from the last weekend of May.
