Fantasy Harm Updates: Is Noah Fant Taking part in This Week?

Against the Jets in Week 4, Noah Fant was dragged off the field with an ankle injury. Things didn't look good for the talented close end at the time, but it was declared week after week after the game. He'll be two and a half weeks away from injury by Sunday, so naturally fantasy football owners will want to know if he's playing this week or if they'll have to hit the waiver wire in search of a replacement. Here are the latest updates on Fant's injury and how it will affect our Week 6 Fantasy TE Ranking and your start-em-sit-em decisions.

Will Noah Fant play in week 6?

UPDATE 2: Fant is officially "questionable" for week 6 and will be a playful decision.

TO UPDATE: Fant was limited in practice on Thursday.

Fant (ankle) was restricted in Broncos training on Wednesday, according to the team's official injury report. The fact that he was back on the field in a limited session too is a good sign, but it doesn't guarantee he'll be playing in Week 6.

Fant will have to train at least on Thursday and Friday to a limited extent in order to play against the Patriots. He could be a real game-time decision after he was disfellowshipped last Friday before the scheduled week 5 Broncos Patriots game was postponed. Hence, Fantasy owners need to have a plug-and-play backup option ready in case Fant cannot play.

If Fant can't play, Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy will continue to hit most of the goals for the Broncos, with Fant, Courtland Sutton (torn ACL) and KJ Hamler (thighs) out. Nick Vannett would be the top TE in Denver if Fant were out, but Vannett won't have fantasy value as he has two catches for just one yard this season.

Our week 6 TE leaderboard has other top streaming options for the position, including Eric Ebron, Jordan Akins, and Irv Smith Jr., for Fant owners looking for a contingency plan.
