“Green Lantern Corps” movie is still in development with John Stewart as lead (exclusive)
The Green Lantern Corps is still a work in progress and John Stewart will be the main character in the film.
Fans were in an uproar following news yesterday that Finn Wittrock will play Guy Gardner on HBO’s Max ‘Green Lantern series, which appears to be separate from the DC Films big-screen projects. Twitter broke out because John Stewart wasn’t going to be the main character on the series and would focus on darker heroes. John Stewart was quickly trending on the social platform due to the outrage, but was not annoyed by Green Lantern fans.
An insider with knowledge of the project tells Heroic Hollywood that a Green Lantern Corps film starring John Stewart is still in development. Hal Jordan will also appear as a mentor in the film. The film was originally developed and written by Geoff Johns, but it is unclear if it is still pending.
Green Lantern almost appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut until Warner Bros. vetoed it because the Green Lantern Corps was focused on the character. Snyder cast an unknown Broadway actor named Wayne T. Carr in the role of the film and even shot a scene that didn’t make it into its final cut.

Here is the official recap of Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
Bruce Wayne is fueled by his restored belief in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless actions. He enlists his newly found ally Diana Prince for help in facing an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of meta-humans to stand up to this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash – it may already be too late to save the planet from an attack of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, JK Simmons and Ciarán Hinds.
