How intelligent, code-free automation accelerates business growth
By Hardik P Gandhi
It is now clear to everyone that companies that want to survive and thrive in the post-pandemic era need to use digital solutions across all borders. Over the past few decades, automation has played a key role in streamlining processes, maximizing sales, and increasing the productivity of companies in various sectors. For automation problems that are easy to solve, off-the-shelf SaaS products can do the job in most cases. Complex business problems, however, require solutions that span multiple areas – task management, project management, document management, analysis, bot-based automation, etc. Solving such complex problems requires holistic end-to-end solutions that span and integrate multiple technology components. In other words, automation alone is no longer enough – when customer expectations change, companies need to evolve together. The focus here is on intelligent automation and agile no-code solutions.
Intelligent automation is defined by Gartner as a collection of technologies that business process automation (management of tasks, projects, documents, forms, communication, etc.), robotic process automation (replacing data-centric human tasks with automation bots), AI / ML (using data for better Making decisions and predictions) and advanced analysis (better understanding your data to drive the strategy forward). Intelligent automation solutions go beyond simple business process management and contribute to greater efficiency and better decision-making. Organizations of all sizes looking to become more efficient, grow faster, or achieve better compliance and customer experience are turning to smart automation as the way forward – and many of them are building their own automation instead of working with an outside development team. Code solutions.
How no-code automation accelerates business growth
The low-code / no-code market is up expected By 2021 it should be 15 billion US dollars. With the elimination of manual coding and faster product delivery, organizations are rapidly moving towards a citizen developer framework where their own product and process experts create solutions using a no-code platform. No-Code is indeed the option of choice for 79% of the companies with high digital maturity, be it to start new initiatives from scratch or to accelerate blocked work-in-progress. So it affects growth.
In order to select the right technology components for each part of process automation, developers have to write code in different languages and frameworks, which often requires developers with very specific skills. It takes thousands of lines of code to create a simple solution on your own, and a single mistake can cause major glitches anywhere. With a no-code solution, however, the company only needs to define a process, create a layout and add components using drag and drop. This does the job in a fraction of the time and much more efficiently.
Hiring a world-class development team is often prohibitive for companies with small budgets. There are also communication hurdles that are common to outside service providers, as well as disagreements about which coding language to use and what a final solution will look like compared to what it is intended to be. With a no-code automation solution, companies can develop their own processes and solutions and implement them earlier, reducing time-to-market and closing technical skill gaps.
Justifying a complex automation initiative requires a ROI calculation with the projected cost savings or additional revenue growth on the one hand and the development, maintenance, and change management costs for the tools on the other. With the traditional development method, the time, effort, and money are so significant that they are not worth the result. With no-code solutions, however, the company can take advantage of all that automation has to offer, without the high cost or time investment. Not only are the solutions affordable, but the company can save the cost of hiring developers by letting its own in-house process experts do the work.
Enabling entrepreneurs who are not developers
Many companies have excellent product ideas and a solid picture of what the product will look like on the consumer side. What they lack is the technical know-how to bring their product to life, which is preventing many entrepreneurs from taking this step. Investing in a no-code solution can overcome this hurdle, making it easier for many more talented entrepreneurs to enter the market. With rapid prototyping capabilities, it’s very easy to create products with minimal viability to test business models and user adoption, and then evolve the product to add more features and functionality over time.
As the world changes rapidly, those who can’t keep up with it are inevitably left behind. Low-code and no-code automation solutions fill the gap between seasoned business analysts and product designers and the complexity of coding, so companies can create their own comprehensive end-to-end solutions without having to worry about technical expertise. However, it is important to keep in mind that highly specific function or use case requirements still deserve the involvement of a development team. For most startups today, the priority is not to optimize a product to perfection, but to bring a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to market and make changes later when customer feedback is received. A block-based approach to quickly assemble applications and quickly develop them further is the order of the day.
