Soyuncu is three months in the past

Leicester defense attorney Caglar Soyuncu has been disfellowshipped for up to three months for a kidnap tear.

The 24-year-old sustained an international injury with Turkey and missed Leicester's 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa on Sunday.

Soyuncu had a scan over the weekend that revealed the extent of the injury and confirmed Leicester's worst fears.

Key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been absent from Leicester for a similar period, while striker Jamie Vardy had to sit out the Villa game with a calf problem. However, they made new signing Wesley Fofana a debut after moving from St. Etienne.

Manager Brendan Rodgers said, "The muscle is straight off the bone so it could be out for three months, which is an absolute shame for him and a huge mistake for us."

Following Soyuncu's setback, the center-back will miss the start of the Europa League season in Leicester, which is expected to begin on October 22 against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.

Domestically, Leicester, who have won three of their first five Premier League games, will face Arsenal on Sunday 25 October at 7.15pm – live on Sky Sports.
