Israel Adesanya closed Paulo Costa in a dominant defense of his middleweight title on Saturday night, winning by TKO in the second round of the UFC 253 main event.

Adesanya kicked Costa on the front leg to calm the Brazilian fighter's garbage. At the start of the second round, Costa had bruises in his lower half.

Adesanya opened Costa's face with a high kick at the start of the second round and ended his challenger with a left counterattack against the dome. Costa stumbled backwards and could not recover.

Jan Błachowicz defeated Dominick Reyes, also from TKO, on the main map of "Fight Island" in the United Arab Emirates and won the light heavyweight title.
